Suspect arrested in Hopaka St. shooting; man critically injured
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police have arrested one suspect in connection with a shooting that left a man critically injured early Sunday morning.

Around 3:45 a.m., officers with the Honolulu Police Department responded to a report of a large fight involving numerous people at a business on Hopaka Street.
Investigators said gunshots were fired during the disturbance. As patrons fled, additional gunshots were reportedly heard outside.
A 24-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
EMS said crews responded shortly before 4 a.m. and transported the two men to an emergency room in critical condition after administering advanced life support measures.

Police have classified the case as a homicide investigation.
During the investigation, officers identified a 28-year-old man as a suspect and arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder in the second degree and firearm offenses.
HPD said that at this time, this incident and another shooting on Keeaumoku Street and Kapiolani Boulevard are unrelated.
The department said detectives from the Homicide and Strategic Enforcement Detail are actively investigating both cases by reviewing surveillance footage, obtaining numerous witness statements and recovering evidence.
