Honolulu police investigate Pearl City crash that killed 82-year-old
PEARL CITY (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Honolulu Police Department was notified that a pedestrian involved in a collision had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Sunday.

HPD said on Thursday, at about 7:48 p.m., a collision involving a pedestrian occurred near the intersection of Hoomalu St and Puu Poni St in the Pearl City area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that a 52-year-old man was attempting to park his car on the unimproved sidewalk adjacent to a residence when he struck an 82-year-old woman who was sitting on the unimproved sidewalk.
In Honolulu, the space between the road edge and the property line is the unimproved sidewalk area.
As a result of the collision, the 82-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital in good condition.

The 52-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
On Sunday, the Honolulu Police Department was notified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office that the 82-year-old woman involved in this collision had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
At this time, speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor to this collision.
This is the 19th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 32 at this same time in 2025.
